Regina Sullivan, Vice President, Huntsville-Madison County Chapter Alabama A & M University Alumni Association, Inc. and Chairperson - 4th Annual Dinner Theatre and Scholarship Fundraiser wrote:

"On August 21, 2010, the Rising South Literacy School (RSLS) put on a spectacular performance for the Huntsville-Madison County Alabama A & M University (AAMU) Alumni Association annual scholarship fundraiser. Each year the chapter hosts a dinner theatre and honors those that have worked for or contributed to Alabama A & M. This year we honored Dr. Henry & Mrs Nell Bradford whom both worked and chaired the music department at AAMU collectively for 85 years. Mrs. (Dedra) Muhammad answered my call when I lost my first play at the 11th hour. She and her team came through with a stellar performance. Dr. & Mrs. Bradford were so impressed with the cast that in their acceptance speech they mentioned that they wish they had been around while they were still at AAMU so they could have snagged them to participate with the AAMU choir.

The play, Flowers While You Live was very fitting for the occasion. The message that was presented was REDEMPTION. There was humor and at the same time a seriousness from each of the cast members. The Alumni and myself were very please with the performance that was presented that night.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell how much we enjoyed working with RSLS. I am looking forward to working with them again in the future. If you should need any other information, please feel free to cantact me." ---Regina Sullivan, c/o'93

Rising South Literacy School is the organization that produced If Angels are Men, where Brother Ishmael Muhammad made his acting debut in March, 2010. Along with If Angels are Men and Flowers While You Live: A Tribute, Sister Dedra Muhammad has authored and produced three other plays, and one five star novel, Making Mary. One of Muhammad's favorite reviews is "Making Mary is as well written as Barack Obama's 'Dreams of My Father', only Making Mary is more intriguing and contains a lot more suspense." Sheldon Barnes
