In the story, Eugene’s people are 1864 slaves who, ironically, dream of angels who can free them of their condition, even though they don’t understand the ramifications of mental bondage. Majestically, their dreams allow them to bound from 1864 to the 1930’s, and then to 2010 where the “crucifixion” takes place.
The audience will leave feeling like they own, and are willing to nurture a part of our history; they’ll be imbued with the spirit of renewed self-responsibility, and a high sense of unity is expected to permeate the room, even upon exiting.

In loving memory of Michael Jackson, please enjoy his music in our production. The role of Michael Jackson will be played by Zacharias the Singer, of Atlanta, Georgia. You may see him first on the (New York) Apollo on February 10, 2010.

If Angels are Men was written by Dedra Muhammad, author of the five star rated novel, Making Mary.
