Rising South Literacy School

Sound Technician Aisha Cross
Art Director Alfonza Pryor

Aishah Muhammad, born July 7th, 1989 in Newark, NJ, is a junior Biology major at Oakwood University, a Seventh-Day Adventist institution in Huntsville, Alabama. Aishah has dreamed of being a doctor for almost as long as she has been a member of the Nation of Islam, 20 years. She is a self-taught sound engineer and although she does not intend to make a career of sound engineering, she has spent countless hours in front of a computer perfecting her craft. She is the daughter of two devout followers of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Simone and Dawud Muhammad. She is a sister to 3, Dawud, Khalia, and Ishmael Muhammad. She dreams of one day being useful to her Nation by establishing the Nation of Islam’s first Muhammad’s Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.

Alfonza Pryor

Alfonza is a serious artist. This is his second season with Rising South Literacy School. He is quiet, quite ambitious and all about seeing to a great project. A.J. is responsible for all of the niceties you'll see on the set, such as the feel of 1864, and the way the same 1930 park is modernized in 2010. I know, I know...you wonder how all this is going to work! That's what makes this project so awesome. The difficulty level would make you think that Hollywood's finest had a hand in this.

Meet the Choreographer, B-Seth:

Rising South Literacy School is a not-for-profit entity. Our current project, If Angels are Men, is a community project. The vast majority of the cast members live in Madison County, and are taking advantage of free acting, cultural, and liberal art classes.
